Our Greatest Needs

Below are a few of our greatest needs as we look to scale our impact to meet the existing and growing needs of our community.
New Land PUrchase
$24,800
With more than 200 women working at our center, we are quickly outgrowing our space. We have plans to expand our operation, but we need additional space.
There is a plot of land adjacent to our current center that we would like to secure for our future, as land is scarce in Rwanda. $24,800 covers the costs of land and expanding our security wall.
COUNSELING STAFF EXPANSION
$6,183
In 2021, we completed construction for our new counseling building, The Will Barnhill Center of Hope.
Now, we are in need of a second Rwandan psychologist to help facilitate and grow our trauma and addiction counseling programs. $6,183 covers the cost of one year’s salary for an additional staff psychologist.
RWANDA OPERATIONS
$17,500
We are committed to providing all of our full-time women with fair, salaried wages, family health care, mental health counseling and more.
Contributions to these costs help free up capital for growth and other expenses. $17,500 covers all expenses for holistically employing the ladies of Handspun Hope in Rwanda for one month.
Community Counselors Training
$1,000
Olive, our staff psychologist, runs an annual Community Counselors Training Program, a 10-week course which equips leaders from all over Rwanda with skills to offer trauma counseling to their own communities.
To date, more than 2,000 people have benefitted from counseling as a result of this program. $1,000 covers the cost of materials for this course annually.
