International Women's Day
Today is International Women’s Day, a world wide celebration of the economic, cultural and social achievements of women. Naturally, our hearts are in Rwanda today with the ladies and staff of Handspun Hope.
On a day when the world stops to recognize the accomplishments of women, we recognize and acknowledge the drive and determination of the women we employ – women who have set their sights on changing their own lives and the lives of their children for the better.
Our hearts are with our counselors, Olive and Marie Claire, who work tirelessly offering group and individual trauma counseling to every person we employ.
And, of course, we celebrate the 123 women who are employed full time through Handspun Hope…
Women who support each other in their efforts to rise above their circumstances…
Women working to ensure their children have a future full of education…and hope…
And so, on this International Women’s Day, we celebrate the way God is moving in Rwanda and honor the transformation that continues in the lives of the women we employ – women who are taking control of their lives, educating their children and ending the poverty cycle for future generations.
